Long road...

Mazandaran, Iran - Sep. 28, 2006
Photo: A. Sattari

We were all born some time on this road
Each on it's own spot
Wow, what a long road!
Some parts of it rough
Some smooth
Some warm
Some cold
Some mild
Some stormy
Some calm

We MUST all pass the road
Whether flat or steep
Whether curly or straight
Whether exhausted or fresh
We shall all run
But the one who talks will lose the opportunity to pass

We shall not talk
We shall not show

We shall just move
No matter there's a shadow under the hot sun
Or there's a shelter under the cold rain
We are sentenced to move
Even if tumbling
Even if falling

And if there's a valley in front which is the only way to pass
We shall close our eyes
And consciously start to fall
It's just this way our unused wings could be released and we would learn how to fly.

Moments

Rooyan, Iran - June, 25, 2008
Photo: A. Sattari

There are some moments in life
That you miss people you love
That you miss people you got used to
That you even want to hug them in your dreams
That you forget your past
That you don't think about future
That you don't care about your assets
That you forget
That you forgive
That you feel anxious
That you never mind
That you smile
That you laughter
That you feel sad
That you cry
That you cope with
That you run after
That you stuck behind
That you feel tired
That you stop
Stop thinking
Stop talking
Stop laughing
Stop crying
Stop walking
Stop running
Stop sleeping
And start staring
In the remote planets, stars, and galaxies
And start dreaming
/
Who knows
May be there exists someone
Billions of miles away
On a planet
In a far galaxy...
Millions of light years away
Who feels the same
Is standing, staring to the stars
Accidentally stares in your eyes
And you both don't know
The rays of your eyes takes millions of years to reach each other
But something is transmitted instantaneously
That you both miss something
Or some one
That passes through the space instantaneously
And scars your hearts
/
This exists every where
Between the stars
And even in our lovely Earth
He (Earth) knows
He feels
He keeps our secrets
And he calls these instantaneous phenomena "Love", "Emotion", and "Nostalgia".

Developed / Underdeveloped!

Nowshahr, Iran
Photo: A. Sattari

Looking desperately downward, to the base of the bridge
Eyes behind the sunglasses
Skin covered by sun-proof cream
And diamonds hanging on the neck
Too much money deposited in the banks
Owning 5 companies worldwide
And 3 awesome villas in picturesque beaches
Still looking desperately downward, to the base of the bridge
To make sure if the suicide would be successful
/
Looking sadly to the kids
"Dad will come soon with something to eat"
Waiting in silent for the days of prosperity
And assured of help and support of the own life's personal legend
Kissing cheeks of her beloved kids
And counting down the moments of waiting for her life's love
"Dad comes kids..."
Two kids enjoy eating scrap breads with cheese flakes and wild berries
And the parents enjoy looking at their children faces satiated with the delicious dinner
As kids sleep
She and He sleep besides the kids
Hugging each others body and soul
Physically tired of a hard day
Mentally calm and serene
With a heart beating with a rhythm full of love and faith
And the blue hope of coming a tomorrow happier than today...

Our childhood

We work hard
We Go to schools studying
We build strong walls
Buy nice shoes
Ride big cars
We write good reports
Wear nice clothes
Buy the best chewing gum
We use our calenders to arrange our schedule, trying not to get behind

We Spend too much
Pretending too much
Pretending we are doing well
Pretending we are kind
Pretending to have humanitarian beliefs
Pretending to have philanthropic ideas

We pretend too well
Even ourselves forget about our pretensions
Captivating ourselves in our own-made prisons
And looking for good material to strengthen our prisons
We avoid looking around as we used to in childhood

We've forgotten our childhood dreams
Once used to love and care for a toy bear
"But now we're mature!"
"We deserve this life"
"Toys are not worth to care anymore."
"Too many people are hungry? So what? They are used to."

We have got much more than enough
But still hesitate to pass it to others

Let's set ourselves free!
We have become too stingy...
We have lowered our souls
Shortsightness has become our habit
We are no longer similar to our childhood heros
Drifted too far
Far away from our dreams

Let's dress up
And make up our minds
Working to make a world similar to our "used to be" dreams
Time to start from our own
Spreading to the world
Let's share our hearts and our everything
To heal the world
To make a world full of love and peace
Full of equity and dignity
And free from luxury and hunger!

Close up

Stockholm, Sweden - Oct. 8, 2008
Photo: A. Sattari

Wow, the world is becoming too modernized!
I can reach my friend in the other continent just in a couple of hours.
I can call my friends in all parts of the world too easily.
I can chat with my beloveds; just a click away!
I can do everything!
I can take a macro photo from your eyes, put it on my phone's screen as wallpaper; It'd be nice to see you whenever I miss you.
Everything is possible.
I do not even need to run most of my errands....
/
I must earn more and more...
I have to pay my phone's monthly subscription.
I have to change my laptop every second year.
I have to pay for my internet connection.
I have to buy a good car for easy transportation! With paying emission taxes, I don't have to worry about it's environmental effects!
I should work too much!
I have to earn too much!
/
When I reach home from work, I'm too tired.
I don't have time to see my family, my friends.
I can not play with my kids.
Why have I get married?
OK, I'll call mom and Ziii... It's equal to visit.
I'll e-mail Biii.
Why not texting Diii?
/
I feel too lonely.
No real life friends are left; They've gone too far!
I feel far away from my family.
I'm just providing kids with money; No emotion or fun is shared!
/
I feel I've become too greedy!
I want a simple life.
I like to play.
I like to climb.
I want to jump.
I need to rest.
I like to feel the good smell of flowers.
I like touch soil, rain, and snow.
I want to sense the hot of the summer and the cold of the winter.
I'm hungry for happiness.
Where are my friends?
Where am I?
How can I find my family?
/
Technology have made us too far from each other!
Telecommunication systems have drifted us too far.
Machines have made us lazy.
And science have made us Cynical, emotionless, and radical!
/
Set me free.
I need to get free from all of these chains.
I want to become as free as a bird;
with no machines, no technology, and no industries!

Contrast

Mazandaran, Iran - Oct. 26, 2005
Photo: A. Sattari

Drinking a cup of fair-trade green tea now,
Having eaten to excess
Suffering from stomachache
Got too obese
Watching "Family Guy" on TV
A piece of cake in front
Just happy of buying the fair-trade stuff

Cell rings
No, no, no!
Not less than 20$ per hour
I'm not that cheap...

Thousands of miles away
More than fourteen houndred millions of people
Earn less than 1.25 dollars a day
Cute child tired of a heavy full day hard work
With the ambition of sleeping under a shelter
She's just five
With the will to feel no more hungry
Praying for his young brother not to die because of illness
Shall I feel being respected one day?
Terrible image of the scavengers waiting for their dead bodies in her nightmares
And deep pain in her tender heart and soul
Tear drops falling from her innocent eyes
Being evaporated in the hot sub-saharan climate
Their trace shining on her dark, tiny cheeks...

Faith

Jamshidiye Park, Tehran - Mar. 30, 2007

- Milk and sugar?
- No thanks.
Looking to the central station's big clock, it was 14.41. exactly 9 minutes left. A cup of dark coffee and a chocolate muffin, both in a steel tray, make an attractive view on my table. As the light of the ceiling lamps are reflected on the table's surface, my dreams begin...
A new life is waiting for me. Wow, what a nice place I'd sleep in tonight. What new appliances, hobbies, and facilities would I get? Too many new good friends. Blue sky, with drizzling at hot summer days and snowing in dull winter days. Everything is going to be perfect. I will never miss here. There are too many rooms, streets, and districts like mine in this world. Some of them are much better. So why should I miss my room? Why should I miss my flower pot? I won't like to even visit this place again! It was disgusting...
Suddenly my coffee cup poured on the table! Nobody else is here. I must have hit it! Ough, my heads are always up in the clouds. The waitress brings another coffee for me. Coffee for real! And puts it right besides the chocolate muffin.
I should not miss these things! But maybe I miss Ziiiii, my best friend. And, what about my neighbor's old shoes always being seen back of his open door! thinking a while, I'm going to miss it. I will be missing the nice smell of my flower. I'll miss the nice streets, beautiful spring, hot summer, colorful autumn, and cold, slippy winters I've experienced.
I'm missing my dearests to whom I should have been much more grateful! missing all the Biiis and Ziiis. All the Diiis and Giiis! There are too many rooms, too many streets, too many flower pots, too many new friends, and too many Biiis and Ziiis! But none of them are like my own room, my domesticated flower, my old friends, and my beloved Biiis and Ziiis. Yes, they are mine and I'm theirs, all of us feeling free and happy!
While hearing some signals, I spontaneously look at the big clock of the railway station. It's 3 in the afternoon, and I've already missed my train!
With a smile from my heart within, free from internal blames or sadness, I drink my cold coffee. Thanks to all my faithfully domesticated beloveds who have domisticated me, I enjoy my sweetest dark coffee!
Yes, I'll never leave you all. I'm such; whether you think I'm simple or complicated, whether you call me stupid or faithful, and whether you remember me as crazy or loyal buddy!

Soon it passed!

Sunset by the Caspian Sea (Mazandaran, Iran)
Photo: A. Sattari

Life goes on... Whether happy or sad, calm or stormy, dynamic or static, vivid or numb... It goes and goes. So many happy mornings that have ended in a sad night, or sad mornings finishing with a happily calm sleeping. Perhaps it's a natural rule to make these changes, our attitudes, divine will, or just uncertainties. It's all nature.
Sometimes, in my best or worst moments, I get too excited! Sometimes I need to try so hard, and sometimes I need to get comfortably numb. Sometimes these fluctuations make me too irritated, and sometimes I like them. In fact, I've got used to them. I like them all and, at this moment, they have become portions of me.
Sometimes I hate the linearity in time concept! It seems linear but actually seems to be too sophisticated. I need some time to find some answers about its nature. By the way, can't believe what scientists believe about time. Do they all pretend? Or there's no other way? Is science too simple and weak? Lol, I think so! My childhood passed too soon. And my life; has it gone too soon?
I don't like time, because it limits me. I don't like the streets, they deceive me. I hate money, it lessens me. I don't like wealth, it's artificial. I don't like temporary friends, they fool me. I don't like the rules, they are not for me. I hate academic studies, it's insulting me.
I like... I like..... I've never been a good writer! Just can say searching for a real love! need some words to explain this unexplainable concept being misused billions of times a day! And it's all for finding that real love that I like passing these linear times, crossing these streets, working this type, saving(!), getting along with new friends, obeying the rules, and studying academics!

Soon it passed, and I will never become a good writer!
